The Scale of Desktop and Help Desk Outsourcing in North America

This from a press release about Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) joining the ranks of Gartner's “leaders quadrants” in the areas of North American desktop and help desk outsourcing providers:

“Gartner characterizes desktop outsourcing as a mature information technology (IT) category with a growth rate continuing in the 7 percent or more range per year. The help desk outsourcing category has matured, with the worldwide help desk management service market growing at a 6.5 percent compound annual growth rate over 2003 to 2008 and from $9.6 billion to $13.1 billion. “
