Here's an interesting addition for your contracts: “The right to interview anybody working on your projects and to approve or reject them.” That tidbit comes from Pavan Nigam, CEO of Cendura Corp., a California-based application management solutions firm, quoted in “Sinking quality,” an article in this week's ComputerWorld, which offers advice to prevent service provider performance from slipping.

Alongside veto power, also make sure you set a mark against which no further people shuffling will take place on your project — and, as META Group advises, set a notification benchmark so that you'll be informed when the threshold is approaching.
